Oct. Newsletter: Bama Buddies 2010

Bama Buddies is a service initiative from the SOURCE that provides an opportunity for student organizations to participate in meaningful service in a fun and creative way that requires barely any logistical coordination on your part.

Individuals who participate in Bama Buddies purchase a stuffed animal body (we have new and exciting types this year!), stuff it, and then have the option to either donate it for the program or keep it.

Bama Buddies’ three goals are:
• Produce Christmas presents for local children in need and raise funds for the community groups that serve them
• Raise awareness about those charities and provide opportunities for more service projects in the future
• Create means of collaboration among diverse student groups, contributing to building a sense of community across campus

Bama Buddies will be taking orders from October 4-November 5 (if you are a student organization interested in doing Bama Buddies with a group please email projects.thesource@gmail.com for more ordering information) and will have table set up in the Ferguson Center November 8-17. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with Bama Buddies this year! The order form is also on the SOURCE website.

Please check the Bama Buddies facebook page for more updates throughout the semester, or email Richard Cockrum at sourceleadership@bama.ua.edu for more information.
